AUDIENCE

In animation the audience is always the main consideration. This is because the animation being made is towards the consumer and the company’s aims are to get as many good reviews and audience views as possible in order to make profit. In animation the art is always being pushed to be more elaborate and expressive combining new technologies to do so. This is so they can gain a bigger audience for a movie that caters to the audiences wants, needs and overall involves the adults and children.

In the animated movie wolf walkers by cartoon saloon, the animators push the boundaries to create a children’s book coming to life involving a heavy illustration style. The amount of detail and expressional art being kept like a children’s book illustrations challenged the viewer’s perception of common traditional animation by creating a more fluid style of animated art .”The set-up is an enthralling combination of children’s folktale and an empowering rewrite of Irish history” (Cambell )

The movie itself used the audience’s reactions to gain publicity because it is very stand alone. They exploit the audience’s perception of their other movies and the expectation of the setting within the movie by creating a story that’s historically accurate around colonialism but fantasy and myth based. They keep the themes around the movie in Kilkenny 1650. (Alter and Vulture)

The cartoon saloon aimed to make their movie  unique, memorable and outstanding so they would keep an audience. Making the animation visually pleasing across many platforms where audiences would view it .
