IDENTITY

identity is  the defining quality’s which people associate to a person or an object. this can also relate to cooperate identity and personal identification. these attributes can be defined from multiple opinions which relate to us for example our personalities, interests, family, ethnicity, appearance, values, practices, work and beliefs. these factors themselves can each individually define who we are as a person.

in class we were givin an activity of describing identity in one word, as a shape, and what colour defines our identity

in one word I word I would describe identity as individual as a shape i imagine it would represent  a circle as for the colour I would have pastel pink represent my identity.

although we associate identity as personal factors and cooperate factors in day to day business identity can be formed in objects. for example if an artist creates artwork they might wish for their piece to take on its own form of identity ad this images identity can be associated with many things and can have many meanings. in art i think artists cab either create art through their identities of create a separate meaning behind a piece for people to imply an identity towards.

example in animation of  brand identity

studio trigger is an animation company who’s cooperate identity is defined by their animation style of exaggerated movements and a bright neon colour pallet full of vibrancy. people recognise this animation company from these two factors and in doing so it has created an iconic identity.

in conclusion identity is a variety of circumstances that is created individually and it can happen in many different ways and can be defined by many subjects. in art and design identity is represented slightly different  your identity id defined by what you make and wish to represent compared to you personality and your factors of who you are as a persona you may wish to have your art incorporate the same identity values however most commonly cooperate, art based or branded identities are generally an identity the artist’s or business owners wants people to perceive. in retrospect identity is both individual and cooperate based.
