DECIPLINE: ANIMATION

Sustainability is the action of keeping a sufficient practicability within the quality of mot being destructive or disrupting towards the environment. this means the protocol to ensure the liveability is kept within our ecological balance in nature. The standards are made to stop the overflow of using materials and energy that in effect will be harmful for us in the long run. These rules allow us to meet our own needs without compromising future generations needs and wants. This does not only include nature-based sustainability, but it includes economic and social standards to be sustained.

For example, the video above is an animation made by Iceland. Though this video Iceland does not necessarily address the subject physically but rather through a story for people to understand. A means to get across a message of concern. They do this by starting the animation off with a childlike story, in a sense its sweet and grabs our attention however when the orang tang explains why they are I the little girl’s bedroom the impact is hit at the audience and people can understand the deep message that Iceland is wanting to convey. Iceland educated the audiences by telling us that certain shampoos and products made with palm oil is not sustainable for our environment it is not sustainable to our planet and in fact is causing the death of animals and their homes. Through using the means odfartistic storytelling the imagery can be put alongside the message allowing people to remember this outcome more definitely and take the issue more seriously that having these products sometimes may not be the best for the environment and in that Is not sustainable. Overall, it made people aware pf the issue in a creative way that gives more impact to persuade people to change.
