WEEK 8: TASK 8 – COLLABORATION
Collaboration is the fundamental part in the process of any animation production. There are many different job roles and responsibilities in the animation industry workplace. This makes communication and teamwork vital as it allows many different disciplines to exchange ideas for a better outcome towards the animation. Collaboration strengthens and enhances the success of the production. It allows a structured work plan, individual creative ideas and the essential help that is needed when taking on a full production. A multitude of skills are indispensable towards animating. This is because many in the industry will have specialised in specific areas and would add a better benefit towards the creative collaboration as a whole, compared to someone else who has not specialised in that area of work. (Jamie Yan 2019) “Working as a creative collaboration in animation ensures quality and the use of individual talent.”
Warm welcome is a short animation collaboration movie between Meppity a youtuber and her friends. The video describes the process of the collaboration workflow. Each of her friends explains their roles and contribution in the animation with each of their individual skills and specializations. They outline key job roles in the industry from different management departments pre production, production and post production. Each of the team members overseen these titles and worked under them while they collaborated together. The group of friends creating the animation took meetings to discuss how they would work together Jamie Yan states” They each make creative, conceptual contributions while responding to and engaging with the ideas of others” (Holain paragraph 11)
