CHARACTER DESIGN WEEK 5

HOMEWORK OUTLINE:

• Character descriptions – Consider the factors in your world, character back stories / descriptions, personality traits, or other practical elements about your characters that impact your design choices.
  See the character design template document below that can help give prompts to some of these character design questions.
• Design characters for your world – fill 2-4 (or more) pages of different character design ideas or if you’re focused on just one or two characters then fill the pages with different iterations on the same character – consider expressions and different poses as exploration into your designs, or even different styles if you’re trying to find a style that suits your work. Consider the fundamentals we’ve covered already (form and shape, colour, and this weeks character design lecture content.)

FIRST DESIGNS AND VILLAIN CONCEPT:

Name: Cherub, Cher

Height: 5

Sex: female

Race: angel

Eye Colour: shale blue

Hair Colour: salmon pink

Skin Colour: white

personality: calm, mysterious, smart, slick, devious, mischievous, trickster and polite

type of angel: lower Greek cherub

Backstory idea one:

 

Cher is a higher up angel who bestows blessings and is the one who gives the main character the flower of power

 

Backstory idea two:

The main character guards the flower he is tricked by an angel called cher who has a broken wing and is hiding their tainted flower trying to redeem themselves eventually the angel gains trust with the main character but is tempted by the power of the flower and steals it from the main character  then the main character is brought towards the hierarchy of angels and is told he must get the flower back or he will be banished and never return the main character is struggling with the feelings of betrayal from his friend cher and in anger he starts to become tainted with the flower showing in his eye but he sets of on his journey to redeem himself and heads away as a fallen angel into the realm where the mafia cooperate evil angels are in order to take back the flower or power from cher.

cher eventually becomes good and changes helping the main character.

CLASS ACTIVITY:

we had a guest in teaching us about character design and we were given a challenge to create characters out of shape language.
