Textile artist Atsuko Chirikjian

Atsuko is a Japanese textile artist. born is Tokyo she graduated from the tama art university and after moving to America also graduated from the Cranbrook academy of art in Michigan. Atsuko creates her art in a three- dimensional form, using canvas she builds up textured materials creating a structure and a pattern. her materials consist of thread, wire, net ,bamboo, twigs and cheesecloth. Atsuko sees the canvas as a part through her work called viewers attention, her canvases through layering emphasise her material work.

 

Atsukos goal is to construct space her art being the result of just letting things happen to the materials to build and take shape. Atsuko takes fascination is creating space and and creating almost an abstract art form. themed almost like an architectural interpretation. Her art formed with warped lines and three dimensional techniques. Atsukos art is like and interpretation of her imagination. materials to her are like sketching, every advance started from a single line and building it up in layers just like a drawing she constructs shapes and builds form using interesting elements. Atsukos art style is that of fibre textile art. in japan this art expression of textile is not very popular but rose at the end of the 80s.

her works have been held in national and international exhibitions such as Ney York, Philadelphia, Matsuya Ginza Tokyo 1990 and Belgium.

 

 

fashion designer Randy Fenoli

Randy is an American fashion designer who focuses on making wedding dresses. Being famous Randy Fenoli is a tv presented and runs his own shop and fashion studio in America. the show he hosts for is called say yes to the dress. Being the youngest of seven children and born on a cattle farm Randy’s vision towards design to teach himself how to sew when he was nine years old at this point taking a big interest into fashion. Randy has launched how own bridal industry collections, the diamond collection and randy Fenoli for dress creations. Randy has won the award design in excellence bridal industry a top award for the fashion industry he is in. As a fashion designer Randys main goal with his designs is to ” educate, elevate and empower ” a bride with her dress helping the bride choose the most important dress in their lives.

Randy first entered the makeup artistry leading him to win miss gay America in 1990 this allowed Randy to receive prize money to which he used to enrol at the New York’s fashion institute of technology and this lead him to work for Dessy diamond.

Randy graduated and has been an independent consultant and fashion designer since 1992. in 2007 Fenoli became star on a tv show called Say yes to the dress on TLC. Randy leaps boundaries with his fashion designs for wedding dresses as he specifically caters to every bride no matter what age, size or shape he wants every bride to look beautiful in his dresses and his design thoroughly cater too all.

 

Textile designer Stephanie Housley

Stephanie founded a company called coral and trust. the company makes textile prints onto products. her company was founded in 2007. her textile art is a form of illustration and machine embroidery. each of her designs starts with some concept sketches and follows with carefully crafted linen and detailed textile patterns of embroidery. Stephanie Housley was born in Ohio valley. her first professional job that lasted fifteen years was being an interior textile designer in New York city. on her own Stephanie decided to start her own business. her embroidered textile designs are nature, travel and animal inspired having a distinct warmth and charm.

her creative process begins with some idea brought from magazines, blogs and finding a theme. furthering the development Stephanie creates visual ideas starting with a sketch, scaling it and then moving onto embroidery. her textile design skills developed from her family having relatives who specialised in making lace and dolls. embroidery and art was something that she fell into as a child and loved it. Stephanie however has noted her own skills that she herself cannot embroider but instead uses a machine taking an approach of drawing with thread. Stephanie tries to create a tactile and nature based textile designs bringing things that relate to her in life and making art out of it.
