During Week 10 of our Animated Narratives module, I set myself the task of working on retexturing the environment for our animation in order to give it more depth. I decided on using UV mapping instead of using Substance painter in order to save our group time and to make giving certain objects easier textures.

The progress I had made included texturing the floor, the doors, the carpet base and the staircase leading into the basement. Below are the screenshots of these textured objects.

-Carpet Base

-Staircase

-Door

Whilst working on the textures however, I eventually decided that using solid colour for the environment would work much better with our more cartoony style for our animation. Along with the fact that some models that would keep their flat colours would heavily clash with the parts that were textured, as seen below. As a result, we have decided to go ahead with our environment as it is.
