Sustainability case study

Robert Harrison- “Sustainable ceramics”

Robert Harrison is known for his work in architectural sculpture and support of a “greener” future for the art of ceramics. Among awards and nominations, Harrison wrote “Sustainable ceramics” which debuted in 2013. This book puts forward those ideals and does the essential job of passing on his word and making it foundational to be carried forward for generations. With today’s concerns and problems concerning the limited resources left on our planet, it is important we promote and follow these words on how to be as sustainable as possible when working with clay and fired products such as porcelain. It is becoming more popular to recycle unused materials and any fired pieces to be broken down and used for structures such as roads. As someone who is currently learning more about the methods of ceramics, this book is the perfect reference to practice the art with sustainability in mind.
