Investor Pitch – Competitor Analysis

As mentioned in my SWOT analysis, I had already taken a look on the app-store to try and find some apps that are similar to the one I planned to pitch.

I couldn’t find any apps for planning clean-up events on the app-store, however, I see this as a positive thing as well as a negative. This is because, since there are no other apps like this on the app-store, it is unique, and gives people easy access to a community as well as a chance to help our planet.

Since I couldn’t find anything similar, I remembered that my app is also based around building a community, so I looked to other community-based apps instead.

I also looked to other apps made for reducing your carbon footprint, and staying eco-conscious.

Reddit

Reddit is a forum-based app where you can join communities and speak to other people interested in the same topics as you.

I chose to research Reddit because I’ve been a part of similar groups on this app before, and knew there’d definitely be one where people document their progress with rubbish clean-ups.

Eco Buddy

Eco Buddy is an app for people to reduce their CO2 emissions, and therefore, their carbon footprint. I looked to this app so I could decide whether or not it would be worth adding similar features.

CoGo

Like Eco Buddy, CoGo is an app for reducing your carbon footprint. However, this appĀ does have the community aspect within it as well. It is mainly for businesses though, and it’s a big step forward in the fight against global warming.

I liked their map feature, and I was wanting to make my app location based too, so this is a feature I would definitely look into more if I were actually creating this app.
