Paper Wireframes
After conducting the necessary research, and completing the first phase of my planning, I decided that it’s now time to draw up some paper wireframes.
These will give me a good foundation to base my high resolution mock-ups on, as well as the final prototype. Creating paper wireframes will also allow me to conduct a quick user test, and ask people if they think this design will work, as well as answering whether or not it will solve the problem at hand.
Here are my initial wireframes:

I then asked a few people if the design made sense. I asked questions like:
- Is the journey clear?
- What do you think this button does?
- Do you think there is a clear navigation?
- Will this teach you about the elements?
Most responses were very positive. One person suggested that I try to include more illustrations/icons where possible, in order to make the meaning behind the buttons more clear. Obviously since this wasn’t a detailed depiction of how the app will look – it’s understandable for a child to want to explain this to me. Once I create my prototype, I will conduct another user test to be sure that everything makes sense early enough to make the necessary changes.
