Day 2 – Fine Art Print Making Workshops

Monotype Print Making –

Collagraph Print Making –

For print making we got to try two different print making processes Monotype and Collagraph print. For Monoprint, we had to roll the colour of our chose of ink and then place a sheet of paper on top of where we placed our ink. We then got to experiment with different tools like pencils, paint brushes, forks, spoons and other interesting mark making tools. We then had to lean lightly on the paper that was on top of the ink to create an indentation in the paper that would then be our print after peeling it away. For Collagraph printmaking we got printing plate that we then had to roll on the coloured ink or inks that we liked. We then had to select from a variety of different textured papers, plastic or hand paint on a print to the printing plate, then rolled it through the printing press to reveal the final print. I loved this workshop as Printmaking is one of my many favourite art processes and learning new print making techniques was a lot of fun and messy. I also really liked being able to establish my own style through the print making and seeing what different tools make effective marks on my prints.
