During Week 1, I had decided to go ahead with working independently on my project ideas for the Pitch Presentation on Week 3, as I felt the most confident in the art style ideas that I had put out into the course’s Discord server. After mulling over my three main ideas, I decided to go with the Tom and Jerry inspired idea as I felt like it had the strongest base for an art style that people could easily understand from description alone.
From there, I developed out the Pure Ref file further to include more inspiration and art references, as seen below. Along with Tom & Jerry, one of my main references I plan on using is from a Thai artist and animator named Piti Yindee, who I have been following for several years and have enjoyed their previous comics, personal animations and professional work.

In addition, I also wrote down some pending titles for both the animated film, and the environment it takes place in as the restaurant that the film is set in can’t be named after any real fast-food chains. The blue coloured notes are the names I eventually settled on.
From there, I started to work on studying the art styles I planned to take inspiration from, and designing my characters with those conventions in mind. Below are pictures from a sketch book of my initial style study, along with rough character concepts of my two characters, Snatch the Raccoon and Screech the Possum.
