For my mood board, the word ‘layers’ to me immediately reminded me of the plethora of layers in nature – layers within sedimentary rocks, layers within food such as onions, bananas, and carrots, layers within trees, as well as how natures layers with the industrial human design, such as moss and weeds growing on pavement or on brickwork. As my theme stemmed from a lot of natural elements, I wanted to keep my colour palette within the natural theme – utilising blues, greens, reds, oranges, etc. I found inspiration in the fashion industry in the maximalist style layering that makes incredible use of various fabrics, textures, and colour ways.
