This is my completed logo which was created using Adobe Illustrator. Of course the logo was created to enter a live competition which is based on the Cathedral Quarter. So far im very pleased with the outcome, i really like how similar the logo and the text underneath are, as they combine well together. This logo represents all the main points of Cathedral Quarter and how they are all connected using the curved lines to join them together. I really like how the text underneath has a similar design to the logo. I would’ve liked to have experimented more with colour options to compare on what looked best.
Here is a quick mock up of my finalised logo using photoshop. So i’ve chosen a background image to use for this logo and then edited my logo ontop of it using photoshop. I really like how this idea has worked and i personally think it looks more professional.
Here i tried to experiment in many ways to generate a final idea for this project. my intention was to try a variety of shapes, colours and styles. I also tried to incorporate images from around the Cathedral Quarter area to use as backgrounds.
Here i’ve created a series of ideas for the live logo competition. I’ve attempted to use a variety of medias including: lino print, marker, chalk pens and paint markers. I gathered inspioration from a few books which were (Decoding Logos, Why we design and Logo) I found that researching through books really enhanced my ideas and trying to focus on how to make them creative and meaningful at the same time. There are not many in colour as i preferred to experiment more in black and white first before experimenting with colour. So far there are only a few that stand out, as my next stage i will begin to finalise my chosen logo.
Here i’ve presented my pervious images of Cathedral Quarter into my sketchbook, these images will help influence my design ideas. My initial ideas for this project is to attempt to experiment as much as possible with colour, typography, collage and shapes, which can include shapes of buildings etc.
