Presentation & Reflection 400MPH

Presentation details:

With the first impressions I had in the process of the whole project was with the type of short film that our group was selected to analysis 400MPH. In this bridge being honest it was a very different experience as it was a very realistic style having more attention to detail.
At the beginning of the group preparation, Amy started by sharing and growing a slide where the analysis would be placed. Each of the group had to summarize each part that we found impotent, so I had the opportunity to make an analysis of some details that I found in the video that were ‘interesting’ bridges in my opinion.

My Analyses:

With the analise I started making some drafts where I wrote anything that I found details in the video to put in the presentation, in a side my notes and in the other watching some help videos for the Image Parts, Songs, Color , Angles Camera etc…
After doing my notes on paper I started passing everything for the word where I left easier notations and guide images for easy understanding.

 

Then Amy of our group had a good idea of doing a separation in 4 main tones of the short film for each one of the group to have divided its part of the analysis, of beginning I liked very much the idea and so we did it this way .
Each one had its separate part and I stayed with the end that is ‘CLIMAX’, where I could select some of these topics that we chose of important or also add some more topic.

 

 

I selected some of the topics and then started taking some notes, to fit in with the time that was given for the presentation, we separated so that each one of the group had 2 minutes and 30 seconds to speak their part.
Because of a small and short time I had to leave a lot of things out of the presentation where I could present by the short time.

Reflection:

For my first time working focusing on this topic of Film Analysis I really enjoyed being able to learn more technical ways of how it works from the outside before starting an animation, I could understand very well the examples that Ryan passed in class with the very clear explanations from Yuan that were very important bridges for me in the process.

With my group I had a lot of help from everyone especially Chloe who helped me a lot in grammar corrections and to train the presentation. In the analysis I didn’t have much difficulty but what I showed to have a little bit of doubt was in the point of the ‘language’ for English not being my first language I had some delays in the analysis to better understand what each thing meant, but after some delays I could do it.
At the presentation I was very nervous because it was my first time speaking in a more technical way in front of a class but with the help of Chloe who was one of the people in my group, together we managed to speak in front of the class and try to show the best way our analysis.

With everything, I really enjoyed doing the analysis of the short film 400MPH that was a mixture of emotions, animation and nervousness for being a more realistic animation and not a drawing animation and having to speak in front of everyone, but apart from that I felt very happy to have learned much more about ‘Film Analysis’.
