Portifolio and Showreel:

In the process of making the portfolio my idea was to make a portfolio on the ArtStation, Wix and Sketchfab websites as a network to show the projects, to show ArtStation where the demonstration of each 3D project would be, Wix I used to create a website to make it easier to take the time to work and Sketchfab where it shows the modelling in 360 for better visualisation.

To make my portfolio to help me with the styles and designers, I used some ideas from portfolios on ArtStation where there were some very good artists that I identified with the style of the publications. So I used some of them as inspiration for my portfolio.

Even though there weren’t many jobs to arrange as I would have liked, I tried to make the presentation more professional and easier to visualise and for the audience to understand the information. Then, with the other platforms, I tried to make them more like the designer I’d like them to be with a more modern, minimalist look, with a few eye-catching details that were more delicate and also matched the styles of the projects I produced.

The part that did the most work for me was my website. When I created my site, I made it as simple and modern as I’d like it to be, so that I could emphasise my projects more, and with the help of Wix I was able to create a site that had my personality. In the beginning it was a bit complex to understand the tools, but as the process went on it became less complicated and easier to work with.

I was very happy with the style of my website, in the future I’ll try to change it and make it more up-to-date with projects and more detailed with a different style. A while after making my website and my portfolio I started working on my Showreel which was quite an adventure, for the other things I did it more calmly and more excitedly because they were things I would have liked to do before but with the Showreel I didn’t know exactly what it was so I had to do some research where I would have my base of information to start working with video editing. During the process, one of the jobs I was most pleased with and proud of was my character (Vitoria Regi).

That’s how I worked with my modelling. The process was quite complex because I hadn’t worked with After Affect for a while and for video I had to use it as my editing tool, which was the best choice.

In order to help me with the style I wanted to do, I had in mind to make a more modern and basic showreel that would show information about the tools I used in modelling right from the start. During this process, I had a lot of problems in the middle of the rendering process. The videos of my character’s movements didn’t work in Blender, the file didn’t render and didn’t work, so in order to work and have one of my character’s scenes rotating to show the texture, I imported the texture file itself into After Affect so that I could solve my problem.

Once I’d solved the problem, I went on to make my edit in the way I liked best. To give me more ideas, I researched some Showreel ideas that caught my eye and so I was able to take inspiration and use them as a guide.

Examplos:

To get to the end of my Showreel I had a few attempts that I didn’t like very much, but after a good process I managed to get the ending I wanted for my video.

For the background sound, my idea was to use a slightly suspenseful sound with an action-adventure sound to match my character.

My Showreel Ending

With the process of making my Portfolio, Showreel and my website I was very satisfied with the final process where I was very excited to make them and happy to have been able to finish the way I wanted in the future I will try to improve some aspects but I was very satisfied with the process.
