At this point in time, I have given my pre-production presentation on the work done over the three weeks since our Pitch Presentation, my slides being seen below. The most notable being the Updated Schedule slide as I have changed my week plans in order to better suit my work load and time at this point in time.
After giving my presentation, I had been given positive reception to my character designs and storyboards, mainly that everything I’ve done is looking good so far, with my main critiques being to update Snatch’s design to be easier to animate, along with keeping my time in mind for actually animating.
I was given the recommendation to try and find places where I can use a fade transition to show the passage of time easier as that is a convention to break up the gags in Tom and Jerry. Whilst I do understand this critique as it audiences may expect the tension to continuously rise until the climax, I cannot see transitions like that working with my narrative at the current point in time as every event that takes place in Snatch and Screech has been made to occur sequentially and flow into the next gag seamlessly, whilst giving time to let the punchline hit.
Moving forward, my plan is to put some time into our dissertation project as I have had to put that on the backburner for this project, and work on both simplifying Snatch’s design and finishing up the last minute of storyboarding.
