In Week 8 for our Animation Studio Module, we were given two tasks during our lecture for both furthering our understanding of the 12 principles of Animation, and for our group worldbuilding project as we are now entering the main production of the animation.

The first task we were given was to animate a flour sack jumping up in the air and falling back down. The purpose of this test was to teach us how to plan out the key poses in an animation and then time them correctly to make the motion seem believable. After drawing out the key poses, we then drew in the extremes and in betweens to fully animate the motion of the anticipation, the arc and the follow through.

Additionally, we also included a secondary action with the rounded shapes on the corners of the sack, which change direction with the movement of the main body. They are also affected by follow through, being the last thing to finish its cycle.

Below is the finished animation of the flour sack jump.

The second task we were given was to teach us the main method and rules of storyboarding a sequence in an animation. We were given a storyboard template with prompts at the bottom of each to show what each board should include. How this storyboards were detailed and shot were up to us.

Below is the storyboard I had created for the task.
