week 5

in class

Getting used to the rig set up is quite tricky but I feel like I’ve got better at using rigs to be able to animate. the movement still does feel very stiff so in future I’ll add more anticipation and movement after the end of the action.

I am now making the final version of my model as the previs of it is messy and rough still. I have gotten better at the low poly style so I feel like the second attempt was more successful.

This was a 360 view I created to help me model.

I want to be able to rig the mouth so I can add expressions in the final animation compared to the smile that just the previs had. I am not completely sure about how I will go about this or if it will be necessary for the final animation.

I started texturing my model using substance painter and while it was tricky because I was having to draw the detail with my mouse I was able to get it to a place I was very happy with. Our group is going to live one or two people to texture all the assets so it is consistent visually.

This is the finished version of the model with the texture paint that I did.

To get the curve of the icing to actually somewhat drape over the doughnut I used this video.

I also added some texture paint to my flour sack model.

I didn’t add too much detail to it as it will only be in the background and not the main focus of any shots.
