Morning Class:

This morning we covered what a pipeline is and how important it is to plan early. We also were shown how to fast prototype using the circle method which involves using a 2D circle and putting it through your pipeline. Alec gave examples of 3D and 2D pipelines and demonstrated some different ways to experiment with the pipeline.

—Activity 1—

Consider the visual style you want for the final project and research a pipeline that will make that look.

After the activity we looked into Previs which is used to plan shots, work out scale and timing and rough movements for characters. Keep things simple but aim for clarity of visual narrative and consider camera settings and lighting.

—Activity 2—

Block out a 3D previs using the provided rigs, script and audio.

Afternoon Class:

After lunch, Henry gave a quick run-through of how to fast prototype in Unreal Engine.

Next we moved to a different room to have our group tutorials with Michael.
