Morning Class:
This morning Ryan came in and gave a lecture on analysing film and art. We covered what the goal of analysis is, what the monomyth is and the common archetypes in films. He gave some examples of the different theories and how they relate to films, then we did an exercise on identifying different aspects of a still image. Next we covered some film concepts like editing and cinematography, and looked at some examples within films like ‘Whiplash’, ‘Isle of Dogs’ and ‘Sandman’.
