Creating the Brand

With every good app, and business, comes an identifiable and unique brand. I want my brand to accurately illustrate what the app is about. This is something I needed to create for my app before actually designing any mock-ups within Figma.

Brand Name

Tummy Tracker

Brand Story

“With IBS having such a stigma, not many people feel entirely comfortable talking about their symptoms to DRs and dieticians. Tummy tracker is an app that will allow people to track their own symptoms, and help themselves without the anxiety that may arise when arranging – and attending – medical appointments.”

Tone of Voice

Useful, friendly, inviting, helpful, informative, reliable, trustworthy

Brand Style

The colour I have chosen as the main colour for my brand is purple. This is because purple connotes bravery, as well as royalty. Purple is also a mixture of red and blue, which makes our feel both stimulated and peaceful. This is perfect for the interface of my app, because I want users to feel at ease while they use it, but also feel focused and insightful. This will allow users to be more aware of their condition as they use the app – therefore resulting in more detailed accounts to the professional that they are paired with, as well as more detailed food diary updates.

As for the rest of the styling, buttons and tiles will have rounded corners in order to give a more friendly feel. I want users to feel comfortable as they interact with the interface, and sharp corners and edges are not going to do that.

Brand Guidelines

It is important for every brand to have a set of brand guidelines with how each element of the brand should be used. This is so that nothing can be changed in a way that does not match the style of the brand.
