Icon Ideas

I have an idea of what kind of icons I will need for my screen, but I don’t know exactly what to do for each one, so I sketched out a few ideas for each that I’ll need.

The first row is a few options for the “Log a Bowel Movement” tile and screen. For this one, I thought an illustration of a poo would be a bit gross for some users, so I tried out both a toilet and toilet roll. The issue is that the toilet might be too rectangular to fit the tile space without having to make it too small. I also want to use a white background for the tiles, so I might use the toilet roll option and just make it coloured.

The second row is a few iterations of a “Food Diary” icon, I did an apple, a carrot, and a very small plate. The plate was actually my initial idea, but I wanted to sketch out a couple other options first – and I’m glad that I did.

Third were options for the “Tips and Advice” screen and tile. I quite liked the idea of the book initially, but thought that maybe a light bulb would be a more clear icon to see at a smaller size.

Penultimately, I have two little sketches for the “Log Water” tile. I thought a little water bottle could be nice, but the glass makes a bit more sense, so I’m going to go with that.

Finally, I have three options for a home button. I initially wanted to see what a home icon would look like with a fill, but I think it could be nicer as a simplistic icon made with just a few lines. This would better match the “+” icon in the centre of the nav bar.

Here are my icons in Figma, with styling applied:
