Over the Easter break I worked on scenes 17, 22, 23, 24, 26 and 27.

I started by adjusting Lollipop’s arm in scene 17, it needed to overshoot more when he swung it up to the corkboard. After looking over the animation I need to adjust Lollipop’s facial expression as it stays the same throughout the scene which looks boring.

(My Work)

I finished the secondary animation for scene 22, I adjusted Lollipop’s arm as it looked stiff in the first draft, the flow of the movement looked stiff as the hand pivoted from the wrist rather than the whole arms.

(My Work)

The secondary animation for scene 23 is completed, I started over with the run as it was slow and stiff, the new run makes him look faster and his body and arms show the movement better.

(My Work)

Scene 24 I roughed out and finished secondary animation, however I don’t like how the hands start off in the frame, I will move them, so they start off screen.

The secondary animation for scene 26 is finished, however the cake hitting the table doesn’t flow correctly, it expands then shrinks.

(My Work)

Scene 27 is complete; I just need to extend the crying at the end.

Nicole worked on scenes 1, 2, 19, 25, 30, 31, 32 and 33.

She also lined scene 3.

There are only 3 scenes left to animate, then we will be moving onto line art.

Feedback

  • Scene 22, background needs adjusted and make them move subtly as they are standing too still, add cotton candy tumbleweed
  • Scene 24, hands are the wrong way around, put fingers under the plate. Have the hands move into frame rather than in the middle of the frame.
  • Scene 25, render it without the background.
  • Scene 26, the body is too stiff, it needs to bob around happily before pulling back when the cake hits him. He also only has one arm, add another. When the cake hits the table, it doesn’t flow right.
  • Scene 27, hold the crying longer, after his eyes widen, make him blink.
  • Scene 30, they need to look more determined rather than happy.
