Week 9, Animatic? yes please, I’ll have one of those.

Overview

For week 9 of the animation Studio module we were taught how to turn our storyboards into animatics. We were told about how the timing of frames can be used to make a once quick and simple action into a more fluid and overall better animation. For the work to work on over this week we were told to create our animatics for our part of the animation Jam and then we had to compile all of the animatics into one file then we showed it to our lecturer to get feedback for it.

After receiving feedback for my animatic I was told that the camera was moving too much and that I could remove the close up of the Robin or else remove the scene of the Robin taking flight to limit the movement of the camera in the animatic. When looking over the animatic again I did agree that the camera jumped about too much however to combat this instead of removing the close up shot I decided to remove the taking flight scene as it took too much away from actions of the birds handing the photos over and so I redid the animatic in which it ends with the Robin putting the cylinder in it’s mouth as a close up, to make it seem more like the camera is following the photos than actually following the birds.
