Week 5 – UV Texture on Substance 3D Painter

Hammer:

For the task today in class we had the work on texture of an ‘Hammer’ but using a new editing tool that we use to make the texture. At the time of making the texture we used the software Adobe Substance 3D Painter that works with texture and realism making the modelling have more face reality.

With the process I ended up having some problems because it was a new software I had particularly some problems using the layers and the commands that were all new but after a few hours I started to get to know the software and its commands better.

As the work went on I was putting the textures, effects and colours that I liked in the hammer. To put had some problems for being well different the commands, and also in the part of knowing to put the good combination of realism in the hammer but with the end of the process I was happy with the end of the texture practice.

Helmet Medieval :

As part of our tasks we had to prepare a medieval helmet, in this step I made a medieval helmet with one of the images I liked from Goggle and also with some final texture details I created for the texture detail parts and elements in the helmet.

In the preparation of my medieval helmet idea my initial idea was to make a more beautiful style with few details that had hair on top to make it look more elegant but with the passing of the modelling I changed my idea and made a more rustic idea with some dents, blood and scratches making it look like the helmet was used.

In the beginning I did the helmet modelling already starting with a sphere shape to begin with, in this part I had some difficulty in producing the front part that has some different shapes for being open to the face.

Texture:

With the texture I started to make a more worked style, my idea is to make a very rustic style as if someone had used the helmet at this moment I added some details like scratches, dents and different texture on the helmet. In the texture of the helmet I made more worked textures around and in the front of the helmet in the back part my idea was to make the back of the neck a smoother texture as if it were smooth.

Final:

For the end with all the part of the modelling done and the part of the texture finished I did the last steps in blender that I did the placement of light and the directions of the camera.
