Draw:
For the other week we learned more depth and some information on how to create a character starting from scratch. In class we were also given some tasks to make our creativity flow more, I confess that my strong point is not much in digital drawing but I found this activity very interesting to practice in class.
We had to make drawings with some images that were given to us by making some drawings on top of different shapes. Next we had to draw a picture of an artist with the style we liked the most, being any style of drawing. I chose to do a picture of Marylin Monroe with a more cartoon style.
Group 5 :
After we learned and practiced the more detailed parts about how to work we started to prepare our character that would be our characters for animation. In this task I confess it was not my strongest part mainly because it was a ‘Dinosaur’ character that for me was a little more difficult to make a more detailed character and with a very different shape than I am used to, but it was at the same time fun to risk new styles of drawings and visions.
In our group each one had a character to do as a dinosaur, I chose to do a Pterodactyl, George Velociraptor, Daniel Parasaurolophus and Dillon Triceratops to help each one sent some ideas on discord to see if the characters would work or if they would look good on the animation in the visual part.

Skin Color: For skin colour will be shades of blue, yellow, orange working with warm and dark tones.
Shape of Face: As it is a dinosaur my intention is to use a triangular shape to demonstrate danger, making the character more ferocious.
Distinguishing Features: Its most striking feature is its long wings which are huge compared to its body, along with small striking green eyes and an elongated head with a very pointed peak leaving a very slim appearance and also warm and very striking colours.
Clothes: How does he/she dress: For the clothes the character will not use, the intention is to leave more marked textures of the body of the Pterodactyl.
Mannerisms:
Habits: Its habit was to feed on small fish that were on the edges of lakes and rivers, also to feed on other smaller birds. Its habit most of the time was to fly over other animals to bother them.
Health: His health was good, but due to the fact that he was a carnivore and much older he had some injuries on his body such as scars, cuts and also a thin aspect for not very big and very long.
Hobbies: For fun it likes to fly around prey and food, it also likes to fly around to disturb other species because it is a little curious and to rest it likes to stay on top of a tree in its nest to sleep.
Character:
After doing the research I started to make my ideas of Pterodactyl, in the characters styles I started doing the sketch and then the drawing and putting the colours, details that I wanted to do in the character. Also for the character idea I was putting the colour palettes that were created last week of warm and dark tones.
Some tasks we had to study and make some researches that made the ideas of a character flow.In this part of the task I did some research on Pinterest and a website that was passed to us that gave many ideas of styles and designer of the dinosaur in this area of drawing is not my strong point so I had to have some help so I used some help and tutorials of drawings. Also to help me come up with ideas for character designs, I used a dragon design book that has a dinosaur shape to help me come up with ideas.

Making my character I ended up taking inspiration from the character in the film ‘The Good Dinosaur’ which is the same species as my dinosaur. To make the designer of my dinosaur and also the poses of my dinosaur I used this character to help me.
Ideas:
To make my character I made several ideas that came into my head with my inspirations that I had researched. Making with my character and talking with my group I chose one of my ideas, that for me matched with our animation.
Final Idea:
In this process I made ideas with the shapes in triangle in the dinosaur to make a more brave style. After making ideas I started making my poses that I would like my Dinosaur to have in the animation. In this selection of poses I wanted to make few movements in the dinosaur I choose to make him walking and using few times his wing.
