For our lecture on Colour in our Animation Studio lecture, we were given three separate tasks to work on in class to help give us a better understanding of the use of colour in environments and characters.
Exercise 1 had us creating colour palettes to be used in our worldbuilding and characters. Below are the five colour palettes I had created with three being used for the environment and two for potential characters that we shall design at a later date.
Exercise 2 had us search for photos (either by taking photos outside or by using ones found online) and create colour palettes using a colour wheel website from Adobe. Below are five colour palettes I had gathered by finding images online that related to our group’s world and environments.
Lastly, Exercise 3 had us take our created colour palettes from the previous two exercises and to rework our Tone and Value studies using them. What I decided to do instead however, was to create a small character design using one of my created palettes. Below is the character design I had created, whether they’ll be used in the final product is hard to say however it is still beneficial to test out colour palette ideas out beforehand.
