In Week Two of our Animated Studio module, we were tasked with studying perspective and composition through observing drawings and backgrounds from our favourite animations, artists and other media such as video games.

Below are the draw over perspective practices I did. The backgrounds used are from The Owl House, Kid Cosmic and The Simpsons.

Through these draw overs, I learned more about working with one point perspective and other effective ways to use it to emphasize distance and structure. However, I struggled a fair bit to understand two-point perspective, hence I shall wok on improving in the future.

Secondly, below are the composition practices I completed, using references from the game Spiritfarer, the studio Ghibli film Kiki’s Delivery Service and the Disney film Tangled to understand how they build the different types of composition and feeling of a shot in a film or similar production.
