Art Direction

Art direction often refers to the oversight of the artistic decisions made for aspects of a creative project, from solo personal projects, design projects for a brand campaign, media projects for online social outlets, to the colossal undertaking that is making a modern feature length film. The importantance of having art direction is that it’s essential for a coherent creative vision, in both how it’s execution and the desired result of the project. It affects the likes of films, music, blogs, magazines, just about every other media that communicates something to the audience, whether be it to get across information, to make a lasting impression, or to evoke certain feelings. This responsibility is commonly left the Art Directors, this position often entails managing a creative team,  making artistic decisions to set a tone and feel, communicating a clear vision to the production team and stakeholders, give and receive feedback from a team, assign a budget, be the source for inspiration, and many more responsibilities that differ from project to project. Good art direction mixes begin innovative,  with wide appeal for a particular target demographic.
