This Week’s Overview

This week our class was about animation rigs in Unreal Engine, as well as importing textured models into a newly created 3D project. I would also try to have a vote on the new concept art/design elements that would shape the final look of the Wolf Statue but that didn’t happen, instead I spent time learning about the roles of my team.

1st Class

Due to heavy traffic, I missed the first 2/3 of the session. Instead of rushing to catch up learning what I missed, I would work with one of my Lecturers, Aodhan, to free up space on my computer and have all my apps updated.  While this will mean I have to go back in my free time to catch up on my education, it will help me in the long run, allowing my software to update freely with out any troubles. Better to set this up now than later on where something horrible could happen (such as completed work being deleted).

2nd Class

During this class I communicated with the team to learn about, and better understand their different roles. This would be helpful as I did not know any of the Game Design Students. I also discussed roles with the other Animation Students in the team to see if I could help them out or identify additional work I could do (which could help me find my place on the team). The Poll however, did not happen this week due to some confusion I had and the team (including me) spending time sorting out the gameplay, style and story. It was important to clarify  those key points so that everyone was on the same page, but it did put a small delay on my wolf statue work. However I used my time wisely and worked on other projects.
