Introduction
Week 8 is already here and the month of Christmas is fast approaching even under Lockdown and COVID. Due to several elements this week, like Computer Training with Barry Bennet and the stormy weather causing me some truly rough nights of sleep, my work is a bit more rushed and sloppier than usual. Whilst it still serviceable it is not as good as I could have made it.
Days Before Class
First up is the short animation created about a bag of sugar doing tricks. The story boards for the animation was quite simple but helped me get an idea of what the product should look like by the end. Animating it on the other hand was a bit more tricky. In order to be better at using the device, I created the entire animation using a table and E-Pen on Adobe Animate. My skills are sure to improve over time, but it does show I am not as good as I would like to be in this area. However both my classmates and tutors were impressed so that could be just me beating myself up a bit. Still I will be using the drawing pad a lot more until I greatly improve my skills.
I also created the storyboards for my part of the animation on paper and even though I created it in a short time, I feel they look okay, still I should have managed my time better to produce a better result. I am having some issues scanning it into the computer at the time of writing this blog, but If I get it to work it should be included in this blog.
Thursday Class
We had the team chat in class on Blackboard and Discord. Our third team member (Tim) luckily returned this week and we quickly caught him up on what was going on and nailed down the final theme of our animation. We also this morning were able to interview an animator who works for Sixteen South which was really fantastic giving us a great insight into the workings of the industry.
