Days Before Class

I was not able to communicate to my team that much throughout this week until the Thursday’s class, since we did not see each other last week because of the one on one feedback sessions. Good thing the work needed to be done for this week’s class was more about focusing on our individual strengths.  Coming off completing the updated bio for Dr. O’Sullivan at the end of last week, I felt quite creative which resulted in me writing a short stand alone story.  This story will help explain more about the O’Sullivan character, and build upon the world of the Hybrid Animals.

This turned out well and I have already received great feedback from my classmates and tutors alike.  I also took some free time to read up on chapter 4 of the Animator’s Survival Kit by Richard Williams, but I can’t remember too much of it at the minute due to being spaced out at the time !   I will go back at a latter time to refresh myself.  I also used Adobe Animate to animate three balls bouncing in different ways.   This was the first animation project of the year and even though it was a relatively simple animation I was happy with my work, though I do think the speed was off in the second ball i.e: it appears a bit too slow falling.

Thursday Class

During class I got to communicate to my team member Chloe Bowman, but our other team member on Discord i.e: Tim (The Horseless Headless Horseman) could not make it due to dealing with some issues.   Chloe and I went over each other’s work, giving both compliments and improvement suggestions alike.  We were also given the task to create a small looping animation showing off elements of our characters.  We came up with a plan that could be easily adjustable once Tim our 3rd member returns.

Homework

For the class next week, I am to plan on how my side of the animation is going to work with storyboards, as well as animated a flour sack doing some sweet tricks.  Until we meet again.
