Introduction
Whilst I enjoy this time of year i.e: (Halloween, the week of the living dead and ghosts) sadly it is going to be very hard to celebrate because of the pandemic. I might just watch a Scooby Doo animated film while wearing elements of a costume like a knight’s helmet or something for effect. Anyway, on with the work log.
One on One Session
This week there was no Animation Studio class. Instead we had a one on one feedback sessions with one of the tutors. During the session, I got positive feedback and was told I was heading in the right direction. My tutor remarked my standout qualities were, the passion that I put into the project that I worked on, and my ability to tell a story in high detail while expanding the lore of that universe at the same time. I am happy to hear that I was on track and also to know that people liked my ideas. We also discussed any problems I had and ways to fix them. The issues I came up with were communication in a team were some people do not have a mic, too many e-mails with irrelevant information and trying to communicate with team members outside of class times. All this feedback (nearly all these points were quite common with the class) has been taken onboard and the tutors are going to find ways of solving this problem, which is quite pleasing to hear. I also had my beliefs re-confirmed that the grading system has been changed due to the pandemic.
Work Throughout the Week
As for my work out of class, aside from reading my selected animation books, I was fixing up my blog as well as completing the missing two entries for the last two weeks. I am now getting the hang of writing these documents and as a result getting them done in a quicker time frame with a lot more details. I also made a digital version of my Character Bio document of Dr. O’Sullivan for the Hybrid Animal project. I also took this moment to refine some of the character’s traits and flesh out his backstory. (I am quite pleased with the result). The rest of the week was spend adjusting my work, based on feedback and coming up with some more ideas for the Hybrid Animal project.
