We were quickly introduced to our new module Animation Production for the start of second semester and what is to be expected from us. Our task was to create a short animation film lasting between 20 – 40 seconds the to follow along phrases and the nature theme along with it. I was introduced to my team which included , Claire, Orna, Abdul, Sowo and myself which we called ourselves the High Five on Discord. We did fun ice breaker challenges and quickly started this first week with pitch ideas which we told each other our strengths and skills For my team, we discussed and decided to pitch our own individual ideas to each other so we may pick one of the following to be our final pitch to move forward with before the second week.
By organising our times and set dates I presented my pitch idea with sketches, mood boards, scripts, storyboards and the choice of our settings before this Thursday week. My idea followed the phrases Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing, Heart of Gold and Don’t Judge a Book by it’s Cover where it featured a orphan girl named Petra who adopts a wolf pup called Lobo and dresses him in sheep’s clothing to hide him from villagers so he wouldn’t get kicked out. After showcasing our ideas, we voted for Claire’s pitch idea as hers was more detailed and leaned more into the theme we were going for this project. After the arrangements on Discord we went ahead to draw some inspirations from her pitch idea and add into our presentation for the coming week. Then we set a plan for the second week where we would take our notes of the presentation and finalise our roles for the upcoming week.
