INSPIRATION FOR MY WORDMARK:

While creating a moodboard of typography and word marks which i wanted to emulate the overall style of – i came across an artist which goes by the name of “Appear Offline”.  I kept saving works that had a very distinctive, bubbly, playful, and cartoonish style.

COMBINATION OF VERY LEGIBLE TYPOGRAPHY AND BUBBLE WRITING:

THEIR INSPIRATION:

In Appear Offline’s about section they explain that they are driven by a “background in graffiti” and a “classic design education”. Their goal is to combine best of both worlds to establish a new visual language and unexpected aesthetics.

USAGE OF ONLY BLACK AND WHITE:

This is something that I’ll use when creating my own typeface as i move forward as I believe it helps the designer to concentrate on solely the form of the typeface and to concentrate on perfecting detail in the shapes more.

In my own typeface I’ll make use of blacks and whites but also paired with pastel colours. I feel this may help to balance the striking nature of this typeface and stop it from becoming an eyesore or too visually striking.
