Slide Information:

Is YouTube’s animation algorithm user-friendly? How YouTube’s algorithm influences the evolution of animation production on the Internet. During the growth and evolution of the animation world over the last few years, the profession has developed freely from step 1 (which is classic manual animation) to the present day where we use CGI and supporting software.

The independent digital animator was a new profession, and freedom was left open because they didn’t have a solid idea of the messages their work would carry. With the growth of this market, everything has been perfected, from digital tools in all aspects to the creation of films, adverts, games, short films and adding effects to even working with artificial intelligence.

As a result, a spotlight began to be shone on this new means of communication/digital products in general, resulting in restrictions, rules and limits that led to positive and negative points in relation to the promotion and monetisation of animation products. YouTube, aware of all these crucial points in the animation world/system, used a new tool called an algorithm, with a camouflaged name of friendly animation. This has allowed YouTube to benefit in every way in relation to internet animators, so we can say that ‘Animation Friendly’ has nothing friendly about it.

YouTube has become the most popular platform for content creators of all kinds, including independent animators! Although YouTube is often associated with vloggers and gaming channels, there are animators who are gradually making a name for themselves in the platform and receiving millions of subs.

What has the monitisation of YouTube Animation done to the platform for digital animators?

Monetization can motivate creators to produce quality and consistent animation, increasing interaction with the audience. This can lead to additional business opportunities such as sponsorships and promotions, providing an additional source of income for those who invest time and effort into creating these animations.

Positive and negative points of YouTube Animation: has it affected the platform for digital animators?

Computer-generated imagery (CGI) has become an increasingly popular tool for animation in recent years, offering numerous advantages over traditional animation techniques. One of the biggest advantages of CGI is its flexibility and versatility, as it allows for a wider range of styles and effects than traditional animation techniques. Additionally, CGI can create more realistic environments, characters, and movements. Another advantage is cost-effectiveness, as CGI can save time and resources compared to traditional animation techniques. However, there are also some disadvantages to using CGI. One of the biggest drawbacks is the potential for the animation to look too perfect or lacking in character, as well as being too polished and lacking the personal touch that traditional animation techniques can bring. Additionally, CGI animation can be time-consuming and expensive to produce, especially for independent animators or smaller studios.

In order to understand a little more about CGI animation, I did a quick search to find out more about the subject and not get bogged down in what the digital platform YouTube has done differently in this area.
