Walk Cycles (Week 2)

Simple Walk Cycle 2D:

To practise a little on a simple walking animation we had the task of making a simple walking doll on the toon boom. In this process of making this animation I had a little delay because I didn’t know much about the toon boom’s commands and also a difficulty with the doll’s body where I had to make different drawings of the doll’s leg.

To help me with the guide, I used an image to help me see how I should work with the doll’s legs.

Tutorial :

With the basic commands, in order to better understand how to use Toon Boom I had to use a tutorial which helped me a lot to better understand the software.

Walk Cycle 3D:

With the 3D I had a few small problems making the leg movements where at first I had a problem where I made the character walk ‘backwards’ but with the help of some explanations in class I managed to understand what was going wrong.

Second Animation:

In the second animation I tried to make Snow walk, with the help of some tutorials and especially references I managed to get a nice result in the end. There are still some changes to be made, but I’ve made a lot of progress with the walk cycle with the help of the tutorials.

Feedback:

After making the walk cycle animation, I had to get feedback on how well the animation was going:

Reference & Tutorial:

To help me get a good overview of the walking part, I did some research that helped me understand a little more about how I could improve my animation with references from other artists.
