For this activity we have been assigned to different groups from our original group, my previous group had been the group based on fantasy academia and my new group was a 1940s/1950s world where sugar was illegal. This was a big change for me as i has been enjoying drawing fantasy creatures and making little plotlines for them, but working in the new group was fun and a new challenge to get used to, it was a complete style change going from my previous world to this one. Though I did have a lot of inspirations for the time era to work from such as Genesis Noir and L.A. Noir.
I had fun making the thumbnails for this task as I found the setting unique being one of my previous interests, I had fun trying to think of the would and its different types of styles, a big inspiration especially for the girl and the club setting was ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit?’ set in roughly the same time frame I found it ways to base the clothes off the main ‘Eddie’ and the female being based off ‘Jessica Rabbit’ for the shape of the characters I found myself looking more at ‘Genesis Noir’ which is an indie point and click adventure game I bought a why back
I picked the large thumbnail to be the lead female singer in the club, this is slightly based off Jessica rabbits song in the movie, and I knew it had to be tonal but I couldn’t resist and added colour for some fun, just to stand out from the rest of the surroundings. I had fun with this shot and was happy to create a human instead of little animal friends for once. overall I liked this task and I had fun being added to a new group to experience different styles and a different world.
