I decided I would work on creating the wizard staff for this assignment, I want to create two designs for this project as I want to try and model two different types of staffs.

I have created two mood inspirations boards for what I would like my wizard staff to look like-This mood board is inspired by “magical girl” wands and staffs. They have very cute colours and shapes such as stars and hearts. I would like to incorporate a bow and angel wings in my design and maybe a crystal effect on the stone in the staff.

For this next staff I have used more bendy looking shapes – this staff would be more of a traditional wizard staff that would look more like a twisted tree branch cane, I also really liked the idea of having something hang off the bend of the staff so I think I will incorporate a bowl of some sort that will have something inside, I would like to add a glowing effect to make the model feel more “magical”. I think I will use this staff design to practice before doing my magical girl staff.

These are some very basic design ideas of all the different shapes and objects I could incorporate into my 3D model,For the magical girl design I have decided to go with the heart in the circle with the wings, I would also like to place a bow on it somewhere to make it ,ore cutesy.For the other staff
iv decided to go with the more basic curve shape where there is just a very large curve at the top and a big bowl hanging off  the bend.

This is a drawing of my two different staff design ideas.the one on the left is the magical girl design, in this design there is a large bow and I have added the wings in the sides of the circle, there is also a crystal heart in the centre of the circle, I think this would be the harder staff to try and create as it involves a lot of parts and I feel as though modelling a crystal would be difficult to get correct.

The next design on the right is the more traditional staff out of the two, I have added a bowl with glowing liquid on the inside, there is also a vine going around the staff covered in flowers as I wanted this to have more of a nature vibe which could perhaps be the staff of a Druid wizard type. I’m hoping that using the Arnold shaders that I will be able to create the glow that is in the bowl.

The heart on my magical girl staff is very inspired by the heart spinel has in steven universe,i really liked how the colours on this crystal reflected and was coloured so i added it to my design.
