I was asked to make decals to add into the game. These were mainly blood decals but I did do some mould and dirt ones. I looked at other games that had exaggerated blood splatters like the Dragon Age series, and Deathmark. There wasn’t much to really say about them, as the only thing I really needed to know was how to make them realistic as possible.
Most of the blood splatters were created using the rough wash brush in Clip Studio, and also some spray paint brushes. Some definitely look more realistic than others, but I think all of them are usable. Each blood splatter had an initial use, like one was for under a body and another was for running down the wall. I was meant to do a hand print, but I never got round to it and did end up forgetting.
I also did decals for the floor of the facility to let the player know which way they had to go.
