I modelled a basic sword, starting with a cube, and extruding the top, bottom, left, and right faces into a upside down cross shape. Inserting some edge loops scaling along the Y Axis for the sword and just scaling up the gems on the handle, then beveling to smooth out the shape. I also merged the edge seems of the sword to give it a sharp edge, then used the edges I had inserted to make the transition from sharp to thick smoother. I then used the knife tool to cut out some chips in the edge of the sword and then deleted those cut out faces, clicked the edges and selected create new face from edges. I then marked the seems, and unfolded the model then arranged all the UV’s in the outliner.

I then exported the UV map into a PNG and brought it into Clip Studio Paint, where I made a colour map for the sword, using a metal texture, two wooden textures overlaid (as neither were what I wanted), and a space texture for the gems, as I thought that would look pretty cool.

This is how the final sword looked, I am happy with how it turned out. I think I’m getting a hold of blender, as this was easier than I thought it would be, granted my sword design is not very creative, it is just a basic sword, but I am still very Pleased with myself, and the fact I was able to make it.
