WEEK THREE – 3D Modelling Continued

3D Modelling Continued – Workshop Task

Milkshake:

I modelled the milkshake like we were tasked with relative ease although I initially struggled with modelling the bottom half of the cub as I had extended it twice, creating a loop. The loop interfered with the Alpha Hashed Blend mode, but I eventually got it fixed.  I enjoyed using the Bezier curve to create the straw as it made the model look less rigid. Below is a model of a boba tea I made afterwards, using the model of the milkshake cup. I used the Alpha Hashed Blend mode on the boba liquid to make it look translucent and modelled boba balls to sit on the bottom. For the boba tea straw I used a cylinder as their straws are meant to be sturdy for the boba balls, I did add some ridges into the straw to make it less flat.

Flower Vase:

For the flower model, I replicated the tutorial given to us but added three flowers instead of one. I coloured the flowers various shades of blue and gave them purple stems to compliment the Vase. I was initially unable to recreate the leaves using the knife tool as i hd forgotten to press enter to finish the cut and was unable to save my work. i went back and finished the leaves then placed them around the stems.

3D Modelling Continued – Homework Task

Zubat Render:

I found modelling the main body was simple but had difficulty with the wings. I was unable to upload a polished animation as I ran into some problems, the zubat would not render properly, hence the weird blue lines in the mouth and the video. below I’ve uploaded what the animation looked like, I’m not proud of it because of the rendering and how the wings are unnaturally moving.
