Overview

For Week 7 we were given more time to spend designing our characters. I decided on going with my fat kitsune character as it was the one which jumped out the most to me and as I put more thought into how I wanted him to look I had the idea of making him into an older grandpa kitsune who had retired and was spending his retirement in the hotel. With some talking to my family I opted to make the design themed around my late grandad Denis who often went by Dez. This gave me the idea to put him in clothes my grandad often wore, such as the red shirt underneath a black body warmer. I also chose to style the moustache on the kitsune around the one my grandad had as well which brought the design together and made the design clear in my opinion that it was a grandfather type character. A few more test drawings later I settled for this design as a way to connect somewhat on a personal level with it as when I finished adding the accessories and glasses to him it looked exactly like my granda.
