Overview

For the first week of my Animation studio part of my course, I was told to use what I had learned about Form and Shape to be able to draw the underlining (also known as construction forms) for animated characters we had seen or enjoyed. At first, I didn’t really understand what I had to do for the homework and had to enlist the opinion of an online friend who I know also does the animation course.
Once I figured out what the assignment actually meant I went through and found characters from movies I had watched when I was younger, then I created construction forms atop the original images then I moved them aside and used the general shapes used to create them, so I could put that character in another pose.
I started with drawing Simba (The Lion King) for my first animated character then I moved onto doing working on Perdita (101 Dalmatians) for the second animated character I made a construction form for. Lastly, I decided to work on Nick Wilde (Zootropillis/Zootopia) who in my own opinion I believe came out the best as he was the last character, I decided to do the construction forms for and so when I got around to him a was a lot more confident in what I was doing.

After Thought
Overall, I feel that once I got clarification on what I actually needed to do for the assignment everything was pretty smooth sailing. I quickly got the hang of what I was doing after a few attempts of doing it and while I wasn’t in that day to actually get the explanation of the assignment from my lecturer, I pretty much got the gist of what I had to do after figuring out what the key words meant.
