Week 1 IXD101: Point, Line and Plane

The three rudimentary elements of Interaction design are very simple; point, line and plane. With these three elements, there are two different ways we can view them. First we can look at them conceptually which relates to mental concepts and imaginary ideas before the piece has actually been created, so we can visual these elements in our heads before hand. Secondly is Graphically, which is when these concepts are applied on paper or digitally.

Point

What is Point

As the point shows no dimension on the page, the point does reflect a position on the page. The point visually is in the name as it is a dot of any size that we can consider a point. We can also consider a point at the crossing of two lines intersecting. Due to the concept of the point, it can visually change to us from a point, to a shape as the is Always changing due to its size and the other elements surrounding it.  This is an example of point which I created in illustrator.

Line

What is a Line

Compared to the point, a line contains a length but has so width or depth. A line can be presented in various ways as it could be seen positive or negative and you could also view it as a continuous line of points that are connecting together. The line can also connect to point together as well. As the line changes either big size or the elements that effect the line, it can change the line into the third element; a plane.
This is the example i creates in illustrator

Plane

What is a Plane

The plane consists of length and width and when in 2D design, the plane can be appear as a shape. For a plane to be created, a Line goes the opposite direction that is intended to than a form a plane.
