IXD302-Week 6- Proposal Competitor Analysis

Before I begin writing my Proposal, I felt it was important to look at the competitors in this area, such as the Cathedral Quarter and Titanic Quarter websites. It is important to do this to see what elements they include in their sites and how they are laid out so I know how I would layout the Hill Street site to therefore write in my Proposal.

Titanic Quarter

The Titanic Quarter site contains many aspects including information on the tourism in the area EG the famous Titanic Museum, The hotels and apartments available in this area, Offices located, as well as any shops or restaurants in this area.

This site is so far very well laid out as it clearly includes all key aspects someone would need if they had looked up this site. Their colour scheme also revolves around the Titanic, the main attraction. These colours are very recognisable and fit the site perfectly.

When you click on the Nav bar, lots of options drop down offering a large number of services under each site section. I again think this is successful as, although a lot of options appear when you click on the nav bar, it is well spaced out with the colour scheme very minimal in this section, making is less busy. If I was wanting to know more about the Titanic Quarter and came to the site, I feel all my questions would be answered in this site.

The language used throughout the site is very uplifting and complimentary about the area, making the reader want to visit the area. The text is also a good size as it is easy to read and the fact the text is left-aligned but not spread out across the entire screen makes the text easy to skim which is ideal for the reader.
