With the brain storming completed, we began sketching out ideas for different models in our environment.

I sketched out the idea of a teacup on a lawn, and also some fairy designs to help better visualize how they would fit into the world we were building. The fairies I designed were mostly based off of a child’s idea of a fairy, mixed in with the traditional pixie from mythology. My fairies were more nature based in their designs.

I also drew up a layout plan. Originally, I wanted to have three islands connected by bridges, like Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, with one side having a rich vibe and the other being more common. Like Tinker Bell, I had the tree in the middle to draw attention to it. However, I never really gave much thought to what’s behind the tree and when I went to put it into Maya and Unreal, I struggled to make it look good so I scrapped the island idea.
