At the beginning of this course, I was very intimidated by the prospect of 3D modelling, and even when I began modelling the vase, I found myself very self critical and frustrated. I was encouraged to stick to it while being advised to adjust my work flow to actually have free time so I wouldn’t be annoyed. Once I actually began modelling something of my own design, it wasn’t as annoying or intimidating, however, my patience was thin and I found it hard to accept critiques on my model without having a mental breakdown. I have definitely improved since I began, as I have became more ambitious in what I want to do, while also acknowledging my lack of experience, and adjusting my design accordingly. I didn’t have a chance to use Substance Painter without the lag or random shut downs, but I had attempted it and improved. Sketchfab was a challenge at first, but I think I understand it better now than I did when I first used the website. Again, I wasn’t able to use it as I was being taught as I needed Substance Painter for that, but I hope I will be able to in the next project. All in all, this was a challenging project with satisfying results.
