This week saw each of us starting off animating, however, due to my week, and with Christmas just around the corner, I needed to pull in extra shifts this week at my work, not leaving me enough time to work on the animation, as such, I spent the majority of my time working on the assets and the backgrounds for the animation, this also allows me to plan this animation out more, as I can then make adjustments to the animation down the line.
These are the backgrounds I plan on using, I managed to stick relatively faithful to the original drawings, with only the first background seeing a significant change from how it originally looked.
next, I moved onto the props for the animation, which I would later animate over the finished animation later, this allows me to then use my knowledge of after effects, and then I can gain new knowledge from the application I need to learn from drawing
Next, was the props for the animation, this was all the things the character would be holding and using, items that I would need to move around that weren’t the character.
so for this, I created a Pool Triangle with all the playing balls inside it.
For the pool Triangle, I Needed to use this as a reference:
the next would be the Cue that the character would grab
as well as the bucket
And finally the ball
I actually am really happy with how these all turned out! I feel as though all my knowledge from my previous years of illustrator and my knowledge from working with animators has taught me how to create these images in a unique and competent way, and whilst the other animator’s backgrounds could be drawn, I feel as though my vector-based graphics are easier to animate within the programmes that I am familiar with.
